As I get set to enter my fifteenth year of self employment, its time to make some changes to Dyson Forestry. I've had over 60 employees in that time, and bought over a million dollars in equipment. Its now time to downsize. I want to spend the next fifteen years using my head more then my back. Starting this year we will no longer be offering traditional tree services. I have been very lucky to have had some great employees over the years. Men and women that didnt mind the long hours and hard work. Each year however it becomes more difficult to find good help. I have decided to focus on the jobs I can do by myself, or with a small staff. Keep checking back for changes to the website and to our business plan.

The Dyson Family
We have a long legacy of serving southern MD. My great grandfather was a sawyer who created Dyson Lumber Company. My grandfather transitioned it into the retail store and lumber yard in Great Mills. The fifth generation of my family is now starting to work in the lumber industry. I am a life long resident of St. Mary's County, except for the time I spent away in Forestry College at Virginia Tech. I offer Forestry and Arborist Consulting services to all of southern MD. Forestry is a unique career field, a melding of brain and brawn. You must be able to wear a suit one day, and then strap up the work boots the next. We provide a lot of different tree related services. My most common call is to diagnose what ails a sick tree in a customers yard. Often we are asked to create management plans for customers that have large acreages of forestland. The beauty of this career is its diversity.
